Job Summary:
The central sterile services department (CSSD), also called sterile processing department (SPD), sterile processing, central supply department (CSD), or central supply, is an integrated place in hospitals and other health care facilities that performs sterilization and other actions on medical devices, equipment and consumables; for subsequent use by health workers in the operating room department / theater of the hospital and also for other aseptic procedures.
Qualifications:
- Degree course diploma or equivalent and certification in sterile processing and distribution.
- Holder of a CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) and CHL (Certified Healthcare Leader) under Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or CPSDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) and CSPDM (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Management) under CBSPD
- at least 2 years or more experience working as a technician in a tertiary hospital
- Holder of NC 2 certificate is an advantage
- Holder of a Teachers Methodology Course Level 1 (Trainers / Assessors) under The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)
